In Numeracy this week, the children have been learning about volume.

They were given sugar cubes and set challenges to build cuboids with various volumes.

They then discovered that the amount of sugar cubes used to build the cuboids, were the same as the length x width x depth.

By the end of the lesson, the children were able to understand the definition of volume, how to calculate it and how it is often measured (in cubic centimetres or cubic metres).
