Very special visitors in Year 1!

Today, Monday 21st September, Year 1 welcomed some very special visitors in our class! Our favourite teddies! Our teddies joined us for our literacy lesson and we learnt their names and where they came from. Also we learnt about using capital letters at the start of names and how we form them. This is the first of a sequence of lessons all about lost toys and the story of ‘KNUFFLE BUNNY!’ by Mo Williams.

Year 1 have had a busy start to the term! We have been really enjoying looking at adding in numeracy. We can’t wait to show you more as the year goes on!

Rackheath Transport walk

We had a great time on our walk around Rackheath. WeDSCN0376 DSCN0375 DSCN0374 DSCN0373 DSCN0372 DSCN0369 DSCN0370 DSCN0371 carried out a transport survey using tally charts to count the different types of transport we spotted. We saw lots of different types that we were not expecting to see in Rackheath; even a police car and an ambulance which we were very excited about! We will be using this information to end our topic over the next week.

Thanks to the adult helpers for coming with us!

Year 1 Numeracy Café!

Year 1 had a fantastic time teaching our grown ups how we use finding the difference to solve subtraction problems. They we amazing teaching and the grown-ups learnt a lot. Thank you all for coming!
