On Thursday 7th May Year 1 and Year 2 welcomed Mr Hall for a day of pirate/ocean explorer themed fun. The children learnt to read a map and use compass directions before searching for hidden treasure (little flags with letters on!) around the school grounds. In the afternoon they enjoyed a fascinating talk, accompanied by some amazing photos about two very different islands which Mr Hall has visited. I am sure that all of the children will remember the name of the bird with blue feet which is found in the Galapagos Islands!
